Now a Free Agent, Will Dorgan Sign With Growth Energy?

Could Byron Dorgan, the U.S. senator from North Dakota who just announced that he won't run again, be the next target for Growth Energy's New York Yankees-style spending spree for top DC talent? In the news release announcing his retirement, Dorgan says:

I would like to do some teaching and would also like to work on energy policy in the private sector.

The leading ethanol trade group has not been shy about acquiring Capitol Hill insiders. They include former Tom Daschle aide and National Farmers Union president Tom Bius, retired U.S. Army general Wesley Clark, former Iowa congressman Jim Nussle and top congressional aides from the offices of Minority Leader John Boehner and North Dakota's other senator, Kent Conrad.
